For the 2017-18 academic year St Aloysius Catholic Primary School will receive £19,280 in primary PE and sport premium funding. The premium must be spent by schools on making additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport for the benefit of all pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.
At St Aloysius we use
the funding to provide specialist PE teaching both within the school day and during after school clubs. We take part in the many sports competitions organised by the Camden School Sports Partnership and have won events at all levels including the award for the most inclusive school for sport for 2015, 2016 and 2017. Our Year 5 and 6 pupils won the 2017 Camden Netball League and will represent the Borough at the London Youth Games. Our Year 5 and 6 Boys Football Team won their regional league and will play in the Camden league finals.
During 2017-18 specialist coaches have been engaged to teach Dance, Gymnastics, Cricket, Netball and Tag Rugby. Additionally some grant funding is used to the provision of professional learning opportunities for staff.
